Southern Poverty Law Center Community Charrette #1

  • October 23, 2024
  • 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Blue Mark Studios (892 Jefferson St. NW)

Southern Poverty Law Center – we’re a nonprofit organization working to build social, political, and economic power in Black communities through litigation, policy, education, and community organizing. We’re planning to build a new campus in English Avenue that will be the new home for our Atlanta office. The new campus will also provide retail space for local entrepreneurs and meeting / gathering space for residents and community groups.

I am excited to invite you to a community charette to learn more about plans for our new campus. We are having two charettes to engage as many community members as possible. Each charette will include remarks from SPLC senior leadership, a presentation of the Master Plan from our developers, and activities that will invite community members to share feedback and input. We will serve light appetizers at both charettes.

I’ve included the details below, and I have attached a flyer to this message. Please rsvp here. I hope that you will join us and spread the word to others in the community!

Charette 1: Wednesday, October 23; 6-8pm; Blue Mark Studios (892 Jefferson St. NW)

Note: This venue has limited wheelchair accessibility. There is a ramp that can get guests up to the main floor, but stairs are the only way to access the lower level.

Charette 2: Saturday, October 26; 10:30am-12pm; At-Promise Center (740 Cameron Madison Alexander Blvd NW)
